Aquarium of the Pacific

Little interview upon waking up about where she was going that day...
I love how she says, "aquarium"

After she woke up a little more, she got really excited about going.

Obligatory embarrassing photo of Brian standing by a giant sea otter.
Emma wanted to stand in line to get her photo with this character, but when it was her turn she got really scared.  Brian being such a great daddy, hopped in there and took a picture with her.

Checking out the jellies

And some really big sharks!

She loved the penguins... we had to go to their exhibit twice.

Brooklyn and I hung out in the shade.

I love listening to Brian explain things to her.  She's so lucky to have such a great teacher.  Brian is very smart.  I think it's funny how he doesn't talk to her in a "3 year old's" language when he tells her about new things.  He simply says what he knows about it and she just takes it all in.

Ok, this photo is so funny.  We don't know that couple that Emma is sitting next to.  No clue.  Never saw them before.  They were bent down trying to get photos of the sea otters and Emma decided they needed company.  She turned to Brian and said, "Stay here please."  Brian looked at me like what is going on?  I said let's see what she does.

So she scoots right up next to that lady and starts talking to them.  The lady is smiling and talking with her, all the while looking around to see where this little girl's parents were.  We were standing about 10 feet away, laughing our butts off and shrugging our shoulders.  They were very nice and let Emma be apart of their family for a few minutes.

*sigh*

My child is not shy at all.
She will go up to anybody and start a conversation...

She definitely takes after Gma Jacki... heheheh... if you know my mother, you know you can't go anywhere without her talking to random strangers or someone recognizing her and talking to her.  So you just plan on it being a while and make yourself comfortable.

Apparently, we are going to have that with Emma as well.

Brian just informed me that Emma's mother is the same way...
GUILTY

Next we visited the sting rays.  I would say this was definitely Emma's favorite part of the day.  She really loved touching their slippery skin and watching them swim by.

I love that she's *belly up* to the water with her feet crossed and hanging in the air.

Brooklyn was getting jealous because she wasn't in very many photos.  So here she is... sort of.  She's in the baby bjorn.

I. LOVE. THIS. PHOTO.

After several hours at the aquarium, we headed to Bubba Gumps and had a late lunch with my dear friend Marilyn.  She was brave enough to join a 3 month old and a 3 year old after a long day.  And she came bearing gifts for the girls.  Bless her heart.  So sweet!  We enjoyed visiting with her and was so glad she could make it.

On the way home, I thought for sure Emma would fall asleep.  Nope.  She watched Wall-E in the backseat.  We didn't hear a peep out of her.  And Brooklyn was out cold.

Marilyn - Emma LOVES her baby backpack!  Big kudos to you!!!
Thank you again for the sweet gifts and having lunch with us!!

Short video of me singing a rather unusual song to a baby, but watch Brooklyn get all happy and giggly as I sing,
"The Battle of New Orleans"

Not your typical nursery rhyme song... hehehe

In my defense, singing the same songs over and over again, gets kind of boring.

We like to shake things up around here, keep it fresh.  =D

  2. I had a great time Bev. What ever made you sign that "lullabye" to Brooklyn in the first place. What a crack up. Tell Emma hello from me. She is really a sweetie. Hugs all around.
