Every year there is a Poppy Festival where we live and I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but having lived here for nearly a decade we've never been.
But we figured Emma might enjoy it. So we went.
She LOVED the petting zoo part! That's right. That's a snake. She was so funny. Not scared at all.
And of course she had to feed these cute little guys.
giggles... lots of giggles
Afterwards, we all came home and took a good long nap. The festival was really a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend it! I liked the craft vendors the best. We bought the girls some toys from there.
Emma of course was all about this bright yellow wooden airplane. When she was playing with it, she said, "Mommy, what is my runway heading?"
I had no idea, so we got out our compass and discovered that her pretend runway heading is due south. So we labeled it accordingly. Runway 1 8
Brook-Brook likes her wooden giraffe too. She gives him lots of slobbery kisses.

Check out how beautiful our roses are this year!

Brooklyn says, "Watch me crawl"
Almost there.
Big ol' noggin keeps throwing her off balance.
Head up, knee up, arm up...
She says, "Oh never mind. I'll work on crawling some other time."

After "mooning" everyone last week at gymnastics, I figured we should probably invest in a leotard and some gym shorts for future sessions. She just looks so darn cute! And grown up.

Thank you all for your supportive comments to last week's "soap box" section. I appreciate it more than you could ever know. As a mom, I think we are always second guessing ourselves. So when someone questions what we are doing, it puts even more doubt in our minds. BUT I know in my heart that we are doing "okay" by our girls. And if you just spend 5 minutes with them, you'll notice that they are happy, healthy, and growing like crazy.

That's all for this week folks.
If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below and my assistant will reply just as soon as she can.

The roses are very pretty. The girls are growing up so fast. I would have loved to have seen Emma's face when she touched the snake. Love mom
