Our Paleo experiment is going quite well. I have been grain free for 25 days and counting! And the major difference I've noticed is the decrease in joint pain.
I have even successfully decreased my Prednisone from 10 mg/day to 7.5 mg/day (under Dr. Ahmed's guidance - he's still helping me via phone - LOVE him!)
One of my other favorite benefits is how much time I get to spend in the kitchen with my Little Chef.
She is an expert at washing & peeling vegetables!
We've been trying a LOT of new recipes with new ingredients...
some turned out surprisingly well
and others...
... not so much.
(by the way... kids are really good at telling how good or bad your cooking is)
My super awesome and supportive husband will at least try everything I make. I know it's bad when he has to get the hot sauce AND the ketchup out to eat the food.
Like this meal:
Bless his heart. He and the girls are still eating a regular diet with grains and dairy... he made a sand which later that night.
But he did switch from wheat beer to hard cider to show his support.
Love him!
And Brooklyn got a little confused when I was explaining our new diet to her. She thought I meant we were eating au naturale...
Really, I just meant we were eating more foods as they are found in nature. Just a little misunderstanding... that's all.
Butt, look at that cute toosh!
She quickly put her clothes back on and warmed up in the oven's warming drawer. She was a little embarrassed...
...but we laugh about it now.

We are pretty consistent with our bedtime routines.
Bath first.
Brush teeth next. Look at that grin! And I love that she stands on her tippy toes when she brushes her teeth.
Pick out a good book. We finished Little House on the Prairie last week. Excellent read! She received some awesome book collections for Christmas. After much debate, she decided on this series. Our sweet friend, Kathy, sent Emma 7-8 books of this series. She is loving all the adventures the Littles are having! Thank you Kathy!
Every night in December, we read Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and ever since she's been scared of the Abominable Snow Monster. LUCKILY, we just happened to have Abominable Snow Monster Be Gone spray. She sprays this everywhere she thinks he might be hiding and leaves it on her night stand, for emergencies. Off to dreamland she goes. YAY!

For those on Facebook that saw my post about going to the ER, here's a little update.
ER doctor said it was a back sprain
Family doctor said it was Adhesive Capsulitis - aka Frozen Shoulder
She gave me a cortisol shot and a referral to a physical therapist.
So I'm happy to say that the cortisol shot was AH-MAZ-ING. After a few days of resting my arm completely and stretching, I'm starting to move and rotate my shoulder again. This week I start PT and I'm guessing in a few months, I will hopefully have no pain and full range of motion back.
Thank you all for the emails, texts, phone calls, and FB messages!
Other than that, we've just been
hanging out!
Thanks for all the comments and page visits! Emma gets such a kick out of reading comments.
